Windy Ridge Gun Dogs Puppy Adoption Process:

This page will provide information about our adoption process, what is included in the price and your responsibilities as the pup's new family. There is also information about extending the time at  Windy Ridge for your puppy to get early gun dog shaping.

Every Windy Ridge puppy will be micro-chipped, have a series of worming medications, first vaccines and a puppy starter kit. Every puppy is provided numerous hours of socialization from adults and children that visit the farm to give the puppies lots of love and cuddles, group and individual playtime. Windy Ridge has a procedure for adopting, picking, and getting your Braque Francais  Puppy to you. We are often asked what this procedure is or what is the next step after deciding you want a Windy Ridge puppy.  Here is more information to share with you – we hope you find it helpful.

Getting Started:

• If you are interested in a puppy, please read a sample deposit form and sales agreement.

• Contact us to ask any further questions. We will also ask you some questions to make sure a Windy Ridge puppy is a good fit for you. 

• Once you decide you would like to move forward with getting a Windy Ridge puppy, we will have you complete the online form at the bottom of this page and submit your deposit. 

• We will email the receipt back to you. 

• Payment in full is due at time of puppy pick up.

Time to Pick Your Puppy:

We take pictures of all the Windy Ridge puppies while they are growing up to help you decide on the look and temperament you like. These pictures are taken when they are newly born, and again at about 2, 4, 5 & 6 weeks of age. We are always available by phone or email to answer any detailed questions you have to help match the right puppy for you and your family. We will learn what personality you are looking for and try to point you to the pup that fits your needs and family.

We start calling the 1st pick families Saturday morning after the puppies are 6.5 weeks old and go in order of the deposits received. It is important that you be available that day or make prior arrangements as to your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice, so we can choose for you, if necessary. All families are very excited on “Pick Your Puppy Day,” and families that have later picks are anxiously awaiting their turn. We try very hard to keep the picking process moving quickly.

Picking Up Your Puppy:

We do not ship puppies. Puppy pick up day is the Saturday after the puppies turn 7.5 weeks old or later depending on how the litter is progressing. Puppies will be picked up at Windy Ridge. We may be able to drop off the puppy at the airport if you are flying in and out of Portland International Airport.
